Tickets with Emirates are mostly worth buying directly from the carrier's website.
Emirates may not be part of any multinational alliance, but they do work with many airlines around the world, so you can also buy a combination ticket with Emirates and transfer to another carrier.
When to buy tickets and prices
Emirates is one of the relatively expensive airlines and bargain promotions don't come along very often.
It's particularly worth buying flights with Emirates if you have a fixed date for your trip and are not flexible on time. In fact, Emirates offer such a wide range of destinations, and often fly to multiple times a day, that their flight deals are often the quickest available.
In particular, it's worth buying tickets with Emirates when travelling between Europe/North/South America and Asia or Australia.
Fare classes
Emirates offers economy, business and first class.
Especially first class on Airbus A380 aircraft is an extraordinary experience. Emirates, along with rival Etihad Airways for example, is one of the only airlines in the world to have a shower for first class passengers directly on board the aircraft.
However, Emirates has an infinitely greater number of aircraft with showers than Etihad Airways (116 to 6).
The different classes are further divided into different fare groups, which vary by, for example, the number of baggage allowances, the ability to change tickets or the number of frequent flyer miles credited per flight.
