Beijing Capital International Airport in a nutshell

China's largest airport is also one of the second busiest in the world. Beijing Capital Airport is located about 30 km northeast of the city centre.
Due to the rapid development of civil aviation in China, a new airport , Beijing-Daxing PKX, was built south of the city and some flights were moved there.
However, Beijing Capital Airport remains the main international hub, with a huge number of domestic flights also departing from the airport.
Air China and Hainan Airlines are based at the airport.

I'll be making a 12-hour stopover in Beijing. Has anyone had the experience of leaving the airport to visit Beijing on a similar stopover? What were the difficulties? How did you get around?

Upon deplaning, visit the "Temporary Entry Permit Application" counter to present your ticket (or boarding pass for the connecting flight). You will be given a visa-free entry permit to China, which you will take to passport control.
There are some cases where the immigration officer will refuse to issue the permit - this applies particularly to overnight transfers or where you do not have a boarding pass for a connecting flight. In most cases, however, you will be granted visa-free entry.
Info on transport from the airport to the city centre is described in this chapter: https://www.cestujlevne.com/leti...al/doprava

I will add my own experience, there 15h, back 20h layover. There fine, I was there first at 5:30 am, back there were two chicks behind the counter, people were quite a queue, quite violent, they didn't give it to many people, I finally convinced them with the boutique hotel from CA and that I mainly want to relax...

As of 1 September, PP/LK access to Air China lounges is no longer possible. Too bad:-( There were few first/business lounges of the flag carrier, here there were maybe 6 of them.
Hi, is there still a possibility to at least visit the bgs premier lounge from LK/PP? Thanks for the info.

He stayed there.
Hi, does anyone have any recent experience of visiting the BGS Premier Lounge in Beijing T3E? According to PP/LK it should be open, but most sites on the net say it's closed. Anyone have any idea if it's open or what it's like there? Thanks!
Hi, the lounge is open and allows priority,LK and DP, but beware they strictly require that it must be in the name given each entry, so not for example as in most of Europe, I was used to drag myself to LK and the other person to PP. Choice good both hot food and alcohol I expected worse.

How crowded was it?
We were there from 15:30 to 18:00 on arrival so 60% full on departure so 10? Rice and curry was fine, they also had western hard liquor and stolicnaya (I'm typing from my mobile so that's why the typos)
hi does anyone have experience how to get from the airport to Dongzhinmen, as we arrive around 3 am and AE starts to run until about 6:30 am and we would like to go to the Chinese wall as we have the next flight at 7 pm to Mnl...thank you
