Doha Hamad International Airport in a nutshell
Qatar's only airport is the base for one of the world's top airlines , Qatar Airways.
The new "Hamad" airport, opened in 2014, is a popular connecting point for flights from Europe to Asia or Australia, and is rated the most convenient of the big three Arab connecting airports Abu Dhabi + Dubai + Doha.
The airport complex is built on an artificially enlarged landmass on the Gulf coast about 14 km from Doha city centre.
