Named after Indonesia's first president, Soekarno-Hatta Airport is the number one airport in Indonesia in terms of passenger traffic and is one of the 35 busiest airports in the world.
It is located 20 kilometres northwest of Jakarta in the Cengkareng region, earning the airport the three-letter IATA acronym CGK.
Major airlines in Jakarta include Air Asia, Citilink, Garuda, Batik Air, Lion Air, Pelita Air and Super Air Jet.
Domestic flights throughout Indonesia take up most of the traffic, but Soekarno-Hatta Airport is also the country's most important international hub with direct flights to many countries in East and South Asia, Australia, Europe and Africa.
Jakarta also has a small domestic airport Halim Perdanakusuma HLP.
