Kenya's largest airport and the main international gateway to the country is located 17km southeast of the capital Nairobi and most of the traffic is handled by the modern Kenya Airways, which has built the airport into a major hub.

Direct flights run to the whole of Africa and, through Kenya Airways, to many destinations in Asia, Europe and New York.

Major foreign airlines flying to Nairobi include Turkish Airlines, KLM, British Airways, Qatar Airways and Emirates.

Nairobi Airport is one of the 10 largest airports in Africa in terms of passenger numbers.
