Dakar Blaise Diagne Airport was commissioned in 2017 and fully replaced the older Dakar-Leopold Senghor DKR.
The airport is 57 km east of the centre of the Senegalese capital and 33 km from the resort town of Somone.
The national airline Air Senegal has its main base here and the airport is the largest in Africa in terms of passenger numbers.
