Emirates is one of the world's largest airlines and has the largest fleet of Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 aircraft. It is based at Dubai International Airport (Terminal 3) in the United Arab Emirates.
In 2016, Emirates was named the best airline by SKYTRAX. However, they are still listed as "only" a 4* airline in the same ranking.
Emirates is trying to lure people to "luxury in the clouds in economy class" with its sophisticated advertising campaigns. This is merely an advertising ploy and the perception of Emirates as a luxury airline stems more from the lack of comparison between travellers and other airlines. Since 2016, the airline has removed all benefits in the form of free seat selection, the 30kg weight limit and the transfer voucher for refreshments.
