Istanbul in a nutshell

Istanbul, Hagia Sofia

The new Istanbul Airport has been operating since 2019, when all traffic from Atatürk Airport was moved here. It has also changed its IATA code commonly used in flight schedules and on tickets to "IST".

The airport will continue to expand its area in the coming years and aspires to become the largest air port in the world.

It is located approximately 50 km northwest of the centre of Istanbul and is home to Turkish Airlines.

For information on the second of Istanbul's airports, visit the airport page Sabiha Gökcen SAW.
