The largest airport in the Indian state of Tamil Nandu and the 5th largest in the whole of India is located 22 km southwest of the city centre of Chennai.

Despite the busy domestic and international traffic, Chennai airport is rather medium in size. It is very well laid out, walking distances are short, however it is often crowded with a shortage of seating.
