To the south of Phu Quoc lies the beautiful An Thoi archipelago, which includes 18 islands, some offering pristine beaches and beautiful nature, others offering interesting cultural experiences and indigenous seafood markets.

There are several accommodations on some islands, but usually tourists take day trips from Phu Quoc to each island.

The most beautiful islands of the archipelago

The An Thoi archipelago is made up of 18 islands, but only 15 of them are inhabited and some cannot even be visited. However, you should definitely not miss the following islands during your travels:

  • Coconut Island (Dua) - A beautiful island with a beautiful beach, which attracts especially for diving and snorkeling in the clear waters around it.
  • Roi Island - A much more developed island, where you can find some hotels and resorts, but still harbours a wonderful underwater life.
  • Pineapple Island (Thom) - The largest island in the archipelago with its own harbour, which is also very mountainous and covered in dense jungle. There is a large amusement park and water park here, and a cable car from Phu Quoc also runs to this island.
  • Islands in the south - The most beautiful and deserted beaches and the least disturbed underwater life are found on the islands at the furthest end of the archipelago.

Transport to An Thoi Islands

There are two ways to get to the An Thoi archipelago. It depends on your financial possibilities and also which of the islands you want to get to:

  • by cable car - Phu Quoc island is connected to Dua, Roi and Thom islands by cable car, return ticket costs 600 000 vnd
  • by boat - a chartered boat is usually cheaper, plus you can choose any of the islands
