Visa to Phu Quoc

Most nationalities need a visa when entering Vietnam. However, Phu Quoc Island has an exemption from the visa requirement. If you are interested in visas in general, read the chapter Visas for Vietnam.

The conditions for obtaining a visa exemption are as follows:

  • Entry to Phu Quoc via the international airport
  • Departure from Phu Quoc Island via the international airport
  • stay for tourist purposes for up to 30 days
  • passport valid for 6 months after leaving the country

If you are on Phu Quoc Island under this exemption, you must not move to the mainland during your stay.

You can use a connecting flight to Phu Quoc from mainland Vietnam, but you must have purchased the entire connection in one booking (guaranteed transfer).
