The Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary is the most important and beautiful church building in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Although the church is often referred to as the "Cathedral of Santa Cruz", the Tenerife Cathedral is actually located in the town of La Laguna. The most visited church in Tenerife then can be found in the town of Candelaria, 20km south of Santa Cruz.

The church in Santa Cruz was built in the 1500s and stands out in particular for its beautiful slender tall bell tower.

The building bears the features of typical colonial architecture with a white facade and black edges made of volcanic stones.
