Santa Cruz de Tenerife is located in the northern part of the island, where the climate is slightly different from other parts of Tenerife.
The location between the mountains and by the sea makes for slightly higher humidity and more frequent rainfall in winter than is common in the beach resorts around Los Cristianos in the south, for example.
Rain often comes very unexpectedly, but showers usually last 10-40 minutes and rarely longer. However, they can occur several times a day.
The best chance of rain is in Santa Cruz between December and February. The rest of the year is mostly sunny.
Detailed information on temperatures, seasons and climate by month of the year is described in the Tenerife guide.

When to go to Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Santa Cruz, like the Canary Islands, is a year-round destination.
As the town is not the primary tourist destination on the island, plan your visit around your planned activities on Tenerife.
