Lanzarote in a nutshell

Black Beach

Lanzarote, the fourth largest island in the Canary Islands, is one of the most exotic places in the archipelago. Its nickname "Fire Island" already suggests something.

Lanzarote is covered with a red-black volcanic landscape of mostly small volcanic cones, beaches with black sand and red rocks and bare dry mountains of desert character. Travelling around Lanzarote will often make you feel like you're exploring the red desert landscape of Mars.

Every few kilometres, however, the desolate landscape is made more pleasant by typical Canarian villages with white houses of architecture specific to this part of the world.

The southern and eastern coasts of Lanzarote also offer classic beach resorts with hotel resorts and tours to Lanzarote are becoming increasingly popular.
