How much do tickets cost for public transport around Santa Cruz and what are the best ways to get around the city?
Book a hotel in Santa Cruz de Tenerife
On foot
The tourist attractions are virtually all near the historic centre and the coastal promenade.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife is therefore an ideal city for walkers and you will hardly need public transport at all.
The longest distance between the Palmetum Botanical Garden and the central Plaza de la Candelaria is about 1,800 metres.
Public transport
If you want to go to Barrio Nuevo or have a hotel further away from the centre, public transport works very well here.

Tram
Trams are the most straightforward form of transport.
There are two tram lines in Santa Cruz de Tenerife:
- T1: Intercambiador bus station and Auditorium - Historical Centre - Weyler Square - Puente Zurita - El Cardonal - La Laguna.
- To get to La Laguna, bus lines 20, 14, 15, 16, 102, 103 or 105 are significantly faster
- It runs at intervals of 5 minutes from Monday to Friday (15 minutes in the morning and late evening) and has a frequency of 10 minutes at weekends
- T2: short line running outside the centre and away from tourist attractions
- Monday to Friday, 10 minutes (15 minutes in the morning and late evening) and 15-20 minutes at weekends
Both lines run from approximately 6:00 am to midnight.
The trams are operated by Metro Tenerife, but day, multi-day and other tickets are valid as for Titsa buses.
