This small beach in the north of the island (near Cap de Formentor) is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Fine white sand, turquoise water and a wide range of water sports. You won't be bored here. You can relax in the shade of the pine trees growing along the beach, or you can pay for a sun lounger and umbrella (approx. 13 EUR per set for one day).

The beach lies in a picturesque bay bordered by hills and cliffs, a narrow strip of fine white sand guarded by massive pine trees. Here you will find all facilities from water sports equipment rental to restaurants and bars. Expect some of the highest prices on the island and a large crowd, though.
The entrance to the water is very gradual, the sea here is extremely calm and the waters are clear.
Accommodation Formentor
Most of the accommodation on offer can be found in the nearby town of Port de Pollença, where hotels, apartments and studios are concentrated. Expect high prices, however - the cheapest apartments start at prices from 110 eur per night for two during high season. You won't find any accommodation directly on the beach or within walking distance.

How to get there?
Cala Formentor, often also called Platja Formentor, is located at the very northern tip of Mallorca, about 70 km from Palma. There is an official paid parking lot near the beach (about 75 meters), prices vary according to the season and range from 20 to 25 eur per parking space (regardless of the parking time). There are very few places where you could leave your car for free in the area and it is practically impossible to find one in high season.
The only time you can get to the beach by bus is in the summer season, when line 334 runs from Alcuida via Port de Pollença. The "Platja de Formentor" stop is located about 50 metres from the beach.
