In the north of the island you will find the former capital, Alcudia. In the summer months, it turns into a tourist spot, where every Tuesday and Sunday there are famous markets where you can buy everything from local food to products from local artists or imitation luxury brands.

Tourists are first greeted by the medieval walls, which have remained in perfect condition to this day. Although they date back to the 14th century, when they were built by King Henry II of Catalonia, some of them are still accessible today through the gates of the old town.

The city is not only known for its markets, but also for its rich history, which you can still feel and breathe in. Worth mentioning are the neo-Gothic church of St. James and the ruins of the amphitheatre or the archaeological museum.

Port d'Alcúdia

About 1 km from Alcudia you will find the modern resort of Port d'Alcudia, near which you will find one of the longest sandy beaches in Mallorca , Platja de Muro.
