Yogyakarta International Airport in a nutshell

Borobudur

Yogyakarta International Airport was opened in 2020 to replace a capacity-inefficient and small airport Adisutjipto JOG.

The modern and very spacious terminal is one of the largest on the island of Java and the airport is the 6th busiest in the whole of Indonesia in terms of passenger traffic. The building is designed to withstand an extreme earthquake of over 8.8 on the Richter scale.

The terminal is located on the Indian Ocean coast 41 km southwest of Yogyakarta city centre and 64 km from the famous Borobudur Temple.

Most services are operated by Batik Air, Lion Air, Super Air Jet and Garuda, which fly to many destinations throughout Indonesia. The busiest routes are to Jakarta and the island of Bali.

There are also currently direct international flights to Yogyakarta to two cities:

  • Kuala Lumpur - AirAsia and Malaysia Airlines
  • Singapore - Scoot
