ATMs and currency exchange

Currency exchange offices with relatively good exchange rates can be found in all international arrival halls, even in the transit and public areas.

Exchange offices are open 24/7.

You can also exchange some of your money when you buy your visa on arrival. You can pay in cash with euros, US dollars or Singapore dollars, but you will always be refunded in Indonesian rupiah. However, the exchange rate is less favourable than if you pay for your visa by card.

Depending on your bank's terms and conditions, withdrawing Indonesian rupiah from an ATM seems to be the most convenient option.

You will find ATMs located in large numbers in all terminals, both in the public area and in the transit zone.

Indonesian banks don't usually charge for ATM withdrawals (e.g. Bank Mandiri) and Revolut credit cards, for example, work fine here.

Luggage storage

Luggage storage is available at all three terminals. All branches are open 24/7.

  • Terminal 1 - in section 1A, Red Corner opposite KFC
  • Terminal 2 - ground floor (arrivals hall 2D)
  • Terminal 3 - domestic arrivals hall, public area (easy to get to from the international arrivals hall as well - once outside, turn left, walk about 100 metres through the outdoor area and return to the building)

The charge is per 24 hour period from 70 000 idr to 100 000 idr depending on the size of your luggage.

Shops and supermarket

In all terminals, especially in the public areas, you will find a large number of mini-markets typical of Indonesia with packaged takeaway food and simple hot food offerings.

All four major brands of minimarkets operate at the airport - Indomaret, Alfa Express/Alfa Mart, Circle K and Family Mart.

In Terminal 3, these minimarkets can only be found in the arrivals hall and outdoor atrium, while Terminals 1 and 2 also have minimarkets in the departures area.

After the security check, there is a wide range of shops, especially in the international part of Terminal 3 and partly in the international part of Terminal 2, where you can find mainly luxury fashion and cosmetics shops.

Most shops throughout the airport are open 24/7.

The transit area of the international section of Terminal 3 is also equipped with a pharmacy.

Dining options

All three terminals are equipped with a large number of restaurants and cafes, including fast-food outlets of well-known brands.

For example, fast-food outlets such as KFC, Burger King A&W and Starbucks can be found in all terminals.

Terminals 1 and 2 also feature relatively inexpensive restaurants serving local Indonesian cuisine, while the state-of-the-art Terminal 3 has slightly more expensive (but still cheap by world standards) international and local restaurants.

  • Terminal 1 - more restaurants are in the public area
  • Terminal 2 - more restaurants in the public area
  • Terminal 3 - restaurants are evenly distributed in the public area even after security

Most restaurants and fast-food outlets are open 24/7.

Drinking water

Drinking water fountains are usually located near the toilets in all terminals in the public and transit areas.

You can conveniently fill your own bottle with drinking water.

Smoking rooms

Smoking rooms are available in all terminals even after passing through security.

Relaxation area

In the international section of Terminal 3, after security check, you will find a lounge area with comfortable loungers available free of charge.
