The resort of Sa Coma on Mallorca's east coast is often described as the best on the island. The azure and crystal clear waters, together with the long, very clean beach with fine white sand and exotic looking palm forests, make for an irresistible combination for a relaxing beach holiday.

The adjacent town is a typical summer resort. Apart from the Carrefour supermarket, you will find practically only hotels here.

Sa Coma is immediately followed by another popular resort, S'Illot, and just 2 km north you can visit the largest resort on the east coast , Cala Millor.

Beaches and swimming

Sa Coma's main beach is ideal for families with children due to its cleanliness, gradual entry into the sea and generally rather quieter environment. However, there are also rental shops and offers for sports activities, and of course sunbed and umbrella hire (around 13 eur per day per set) and beach bars.

A wide pedestrian promenade runs along Sa Coma beach, planted with trees that provide pleasant shade, and palm groves and avenues accentuate the exotic setting.

Accommodation in Sa Coma is mainly in aparthotels and new hotel resorts. Their common denominator is high quality and a quieter environment. Prices here in high season start at around 92 eur per night in a double room.

How to get here?

If you're travelling from Palma by car, be prepared for a 66km journey, most of which is on a straight motorway and therefore takes between 50 and 60 minutes. Parking is free on the public streets, and all the hotels offer their facilities.

  • Number 401: Palma de Mallorca, Portocristo, Cala Millor, Cala Bona, Costa dels Pins, Manacor,
  • Number 424: Portocristo, Cala Millor, Cala Bona, Costa dels Pins, Capdepera, Cala Ratjada
  • Number A42: direct connection from the airport
