Mallorca is known for its hundreds of small and large coves, many of which have beautiful sandy beaches and photogenic rocky surroundings. A true paradise for lovers of such natural beaches with beautiful surroundings is the east coast of Mallorca between the resorts of Porto Cristo, where you will find the famous Dragon Caves, and Cala d'Or. Over a distance of about 30 km you will find dozens of "cales", or small romantic coves with beaches.

Some of the most popular are Cala Mendia and Cala Romantica, one of the largest coves with full beach facilities, but if you want to enjoy natural beaches with more privacy, look for villages just called cales de Mallorca, where the most beautiful coves are located.
How to get there?
For discovering a different bay every day, which would not be enough for a 14-day stay, renting a car is definitely the best and only option.
In the bays that are close to towns and villages, you will always find smaller, unpaid car parks within 300 metres walking distance. However, to reach the most remote bays you will have to walk from the main Ma-4014 road, always around 1.5 to 2 km in one direction. However, you will be rewarded with empty, forgotten beaches with spectacular views.

Accommodation
If you want to discover the small bays, the most strategic location is Cales de Mallorca, where you will find mainly apartments and luxury hotels. Prices here start at 110 eur per night.
For significantly cheaper accommodation, Portocolom is about 15 km from the most beautiful cales. Prices here start at 73 eur per night.
