A popular luxury resort with larger and well-known hotel resorts, Costa Teguise is located near the capital city of Arrecife on the west coast of Lanzarote.
Costa Teguise, along with Puerto del Carmen and Playa Blanca, is one of the main Lanzarote resorts for tour operators, while individual travellers find it relatively expensive and find it more worthwhile to commute to local beaches from cheaper destinations such as Arrecife.
Although Costa Teguise boasts all the facilities, many hotels, restaurants and attractions, it still maintains a very quiet and intimate atmosphere ideal for a relaxing beach holiday.
Beaches and swimming
On the Costa Teguise you'll find 4 small natural beaches covered in fine, light sand, which are squeezed into the photogenic rocky shoreline of small coves and thus protected from the big waves.
Although the coastline is irregularly covered with black lava rocks, the access from the beaches to the sea is sandy and very gradual.
The best beach is the central Playa de la Cucharas, which, at 400 metres long, is also the largest. There are sunbed and umbrella hire, restaurants and bars on the adjacent promenade, as well as water sports, especially windsurfing, which is very popular on the Costa Teguise.
Waterpark and aquarium
It's not just the beaches that keep you entertained in the town. Visit the largest water park in Lanzarote, the Costa Teguise Aquapark, with its many slides, water whirlpools, artificial waves and many other attractions.
The water park is located about 2 km from the beaches and is served by buses 31 and 33 (stop Avenida de Golf).

Closer to the centre, then don't miss a visit to the nicely done and rather large aquarium with many tanks, including an underwater tunnel with sharks.

Accommodation on the Costa Teguise
But of course you can also spend time in the resort when travelling to Lanzarote individually, although the hotels here are among the most expensive and it's more likely to be worth the commute from cheaper Arrecife. The lowest prices at apartment resorts start at 66 eur per night, while classic hotel resorts start at 88 eur per night.
- Apartments - Neptuno Suites, Apartamentos Santa Rosa
- Best hotels - Hotel Club Siroco, Beatriz Costa & Spa
How to get there
By car
A four-lane road splits off at the western end of the Arrecife ring road, which takes you directly to the resort centre after 7km. Just off the main road, about 150 metres from the beach, you'll find a large free car park shaded by palm trees.
By bus
Costa Teguise is easily accessible by several bus lines. There are several bus stops across the resort.
Arrecife can be reached at any time by bus lines 1, 3, 25, while buses 31 and 33 also run directly from the resort to Famara beach.
