Harukas 300

Harukas 300

Harukas 300 is a popular observatory in the tallest building in Osaka, the Abeno Harukas.

It offers the best views of the city and the mountains and sea in the distance.

The 10 best hotels in Osaka

Competing, but significantly lower, is the Kuchu Teien lookout on the Umeda Sky Building.

How high is the viewpoint?

As the name suggests, the Abeno Harukas skyscraper is exactly 300 metres tall and far above any other building in Osaka.

The observation deck is at a height of about 280 metres, however you can pay to walk along the ledge ("Edge The Harukas") with a belay at the highest point of the building, 300 metres.

The normal observation deck is glazed indoors, but the glass is very clean and there is good access to it. In addition, the observatory is extremely spacious and you can always find an empty seat by the window.

The observatory also includes a large restaurant and a gift shop.

Admission and opening hours

The Harukas 300 Observatory is open every day from 9:00-22:00. The last entry is possible at 21:30.

Tickets can be purchased on site with cash or card. Queues are usually 5-10 minutes long during the day and up to 30 minutes in the evening and before sunset.

Buying an online ticket will reduce the queue by about 5 to 10 minutes.

Online tickets can be purchased, for example, via klook.com.

Ticket prices are as follows:

  • 2 000 jpy - General Admission
  • 500 jpy - guided tour of the rooftop heliport
  • 3 000 jpy - "Edge The Harukas" walk on the outdoor ledge (online booking required: abenoharukas-300.jp/edge)

There are no discounts for Osaka Amazing Pass holders, nor for Osaka Subway Day Pass holders.

You can visit the observation deck in the garden on the 16th floor for free.
