Shinsaibashi

Shinsaibashi

Shinsaibashi is a popular shopping district located right in the centre of Osaka and adjacent to the Dotonbori district known for its pubs, restaurants and nightclubs.

The backbone of this district is the pedestrian arcade shopping arcade Shinsabashi-Suji, which runs parallel to the main avenue for buses and cars Mido-suji.

The 10 best hotels in Osaka

The covered street of Shinsabashi-suji is about 580 metres long and houses over 200 different shops selling luxury fashion, as well as many discount department stores selling very cheap goods.

The shops are complemented by a large number of restaurants, which are rather international in comparison to the more locally focused Dotonbori district, including several fast-food joints.

The centre of large stores or entire department stores of luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Zara, Gucci and dozens of others, lies on the parallel Midosuji Street.
