From the beaches in Da Nang, a giant white statue can be seen on the other side of the bay, just a short distance from the sea. This is the 67 metre high statue of Lady Buddha, adjacent to which is a large Buddhist complex and a number of temples. This religious site is open to all, and the statue offers spectacular views of the bay and the city.
Allow at least an hour to visit the temples and gardens around the Lady Buddha.
Entrance fees and opening hours
The area around the statue is open every day from 6:00am to 9:00pm, and admission to all temples and the complex is free.
Keep in mind that Lady Buddha is a religious structure and entry with exposed knees or in inappropriate clothing is not permitted. Also beware of the ubiquitous macaques that occasionally enter the temple.
Accommodation at Lady Buddha
Lady Buddha lies on the edge of the Son Tra peninsula, where accommodation is minimal. You can stay in the centre of Da Nang or choose accommodation near the countryside such as the Sontra Sea Hotel**.
Transportation to Lady Buddha
