The area around Santanyi offers some of Mallorca's "best" beaches and coves. One of these is definitely Cala Llombards beach in the small resort of the same name. About 150 metres wide, the beach offers fine white sand and a gentle entrance to the calm waters of a narrow bay about 200 metres long.
The clear water and the reef edges of the beach invite snorkelling, while the calm and shallow water invites swimming and water play for children.

The beach has sunbed and umbrella hire, showers and several small bars.
The rock gate of Es Pontas
Within sight of Cala Llombards, towards the resort of Cala Santanyi, stands a magnificent rock formation in the sea called Es Pontas. The viewpoint can be reached on foot in 15 to 20 minutes from both Cala Llombards and Cala Santanyi.
Accommodation
Directly in Cala Llombards there are mainly holiday homes for long stays. The nearest resort with a decent range of classic hotels is Cala Santanayí, about 2 km away. Here you'll find accommodation from 92 eur per night in a double room, but you can also find cheaper ones such as Hostal Palmaria or Hotel Pinos Playa.
How to get there?
Cala Llombards is 55km from Palma, just outside the town of Santanyí on the south-eastern tip of Mallorca. Your best option is to drive, which will also allow you to get around the area easily. Other coves and beaches are also worth a visit. Each of these always has a car park nearby, as does Cala Llombards.
There is no bus service to Cala Llombards itself.
