Hot lava flows have been replaced by water and cave pools over thousands of years. One of them is even coming to light completely, creating an idyllic little valley.
Tunnels created by La Corona volcano weave through the underground for 7km to another famous complex , Jameos del Agua, but they are not connected to the public. Only a small section around the lake and about 1 km further underground is open to the public.
