Few football fans miss a visit to the largest football stadium in Europe, which is a popular attraction not only for football fans but also for curious travellers.
The best accommodation in Barcelona
Camp Nou is the main stadium of one of the most famous football clubs , FC Barcelona, in Catalan its name means "new pitch" and sometimes you will come across the misspelled name "Nou Camp".
The stadium was completed in 1957 and, with a capacity of 99,500, is ranked as the 1st largest stadium in Europe and the 5th largest stadium in the world. Because of its size alone, the stadium is often visited by non-football travellers.
A tour of the stadium and the Barça museum
The stadium can also be visited outside of football matches. FC Barcelona sells classic tickets for a tour of the stadium, including the adjacent Barça Museum, where you can learn all about the club's history, present and future. Tickets should ideally be bought online on the official website, as they are cheaper than buying at the door.
- Basic admission at a specific time - 26 eur Adults, 20 eur seniors over 70 and 12 eur children aged 4 to 10
- Flexible entry for any date - 30 eur Adults, 24 eur seniors over 70 and 24 eur children aged 4 to 10
- Player Experience with guided tour, visit to the cabins or press room, walk along the field - 119 eur
Attend a football game
For football fans, however, a tour of the empty stadium will certainly not be enough. Always buy tickets for matches only on the official fcbarcelona.com website, where they are usually available about 3 weeks before the match.
However, depending on the attractiveness of the opponent, they are often sold out right away, so be sure to monitor the site regularly and subscribe to receive information on when tickets go on sale.
Ticket prices vary, of course, according to the stadium sector, but also according to the attractiveness of the opponent and range from 90 eur to 350 eur.
Location and transport
The stadium is located in the western part of the city near the border with the neighbouring town of L'Hospitalet. However, it can be reached very easily and quickly by public transport:
- Metro - Collblanc station about 250 metres - lines L5 and L9 or Palau Reial station about 400 metres - line L3
- Tram - Avinguda de Xile stop approx. 200 metres - lines T1, T2, T3
- Bus - Mini Estadi stop right outside the entrance - lines 113, M12, V1
Hotels at Camp Nou
If you are heading to Barcelona mainly for the football match, it may be most convenient to stay in one of the hotels nearby.
We recommend booking a room as far in advance as possible, as prices rise very quickly as the date of the matches approaches.
