Find out where the best locations are for accommodation in Paris and tips on specific budget or quality hotels.
Where to stay in Barcelona
Barcelona offers a really wide range of accommodation options from luxury hotels, to smaller apartments, to Bed & Breakfast style accommodation. Look for all available accommodation on the classic sites:
If you want to stay in the heart of the action, then we recommend looking for accommodation in the Barceloneta beach area , the Raval district or Barri Gotic, which also has a great atmosphere and many cheap hostels.
If, on the other hand, you prefer a quiet holiday, the bohemian neighbourhood of Grácia or Poblenou may be more suitable.
While accommodation will be slightly cheaper on the outskirts, you'll pay with precious commuting time (30-40 minutes) to the centre. In addition, all of Barcelona's main sights are within walking distance, so there are very good transport links in all directions both within and outside the city.
If you're looking for classic beach resorts on Barcelona's beaches then you'll be disappointed, you won't find hotels right on the beach.

If you don't feel like spending time looking for the best deals, we've selected the best hotels for you in several categories.

However, if you'd prefer your own room with a private bathroom, check out our 3 picks for cheap accommodation with good ratings and prices between 44 eur and 55 eur:
- Sant Jordi Hostels Sagrada Familia - Traditionally the cheapest accommodation with the option of a room with private bathroom. The furnishings are very austere and simple, but efficient and the location by the Sagrada Família unbeatable

- Ronda House - very nice modern hotel with new facilities, good prices and a good location 10 minutes walk from La Rambla
Regular 3* hotels
Expect to stay in 3* hotels in Barcelona between 73 eur and 3,000 per night for 2 with large seasonal fluctuations. In this category we pick hotels like these:
- Eurohotel Diagonal Port - the cheapest 4* hotel in Barcelona in the long term, but very solid and well located 50 metres from the beach
- Hotel Santa Marta - a very tasteful and relaxed smaller hotel in one of Barcelona's best locations a few dozen metres from the beach, La Rambla or the Zoo
- Acta Antibes - a classic hotel that does not offend and pleases with clean modern rooms. The hotel is about 200 metres from the Sagrada Familia
International chains
Many travellers prefer the classics of the multinational chains, from which you always know what to expect. The lowest prices are between 2,200 and 147 eur per night for 2.
There are dozens of these hotels operating in Barcelona and once again we pick the 4 best for you:

Our tip - where we stayed
On our trip to Barcelona, we chose a regular 3* lower class hotel, but modern, very clean and well located.
This was the Generator Barcelona, a hotel combined with a hostel.
The hotel part offers simply furnished rooms with private bathrooms. The breakfast for an extra charge 11 eur per night is good quality and quite rich for a hotel in this category.

Hotel prices in Barcelona
According to some studies, it is even one of the most expensive cities in the world.
If you book your hotel well in advance, you have a better chance of getting a good price than if you book at the last minute.
Depending on availability, prices for regular hotels in the city centre range from 80 eur to 150 eur, while the cheapest hostels start at 35 eur per night, but you'll only have a bed in a shared room.
Especially in the summer months and during congresses and conferences, it is highly advisable to book your accommodation in advance, ideally at least 4 months.
Prices in low season (November, January, February, March) can be up to 50% lower than in summer.
