Split Point Lighthouse

Standing on a 66-metre high cliff, this 34-metre tall lighthouse is one of the iconic sites of the Great Ocean Road.

Yet on this famous road, you'll find the even more famous Cape Otway Lighthouse.

The lighthouse in Aireys Inlet was built in 1891 and is still in operation today.

Tourists can also visit the inside of the lighthouse, but booking online at least 2 days in advance at splitpointlighthouse.com.au is advisable. The cost is 12,50 aud.

Beaches and viewpoints

Aireys Inlet has beautiful beaches with fine golden sand accessed by stairways from cliffs about 55 metres high.

Compared to the better known resorts on the Great Ocean Road, the beaches there are considerably less crowded.

The town has a very photogenic coastline with many views, the best of which is from Split Point Lighthouse.
