Chubu Centrair Airport was built in 2005 and is located on an artificial island in the sea 37 km south of Nagoya city centre.

Of all the major international airports in Japan, Chubu Centrair is rated as the most user-friendly and uncluttered.

It is a medium-sized international airport with a very dense network of domestic routes to all parts of Japan. However, Nagoya Chubu Centrair Airport is also a major international hub.

North of downtown Nagoya you will also find the small Nagoya Komaki NKM airport, which is only served by the local Fuji Dream Airlines.
