Air China in a nutshell

Air China is the official national carrier of China and one of its largest airlines.
It has its main base at Beijing Capital PEK Airport and equally important hubs at Shanghai PVG and Chengdu CTU.
Air China is one of only two airlines that are allowed to and do fly to North Korea.
Travelers often confuse the airline with Taiwan's China Airlines.

Hi, I would like to ask whether, and if so under what conditions, is it possible to change the name on the ticket, a friend can not fly. The ticket is in economy and bought through OTA www.mytrip.com
Thank you very much in advance :-)

No way. You cannot change the name on the ticket, only for group tickets.
Find a friend with the same name.

Hi, I need some advice. We are flying with this company via Beijing, tickets purchased through an intermediary, but unfortunately I can't enter the data in the application or on the website to view my flights. I heard somewhere that check in will be done at the airport. But how can I book a hotel for a longer stopover if I can't simply click through the app? Is it possible to arrange it on the spot in Beijing? Thank you

I don't know what's wrong with you. I also had it via OTA and it ran normally in the app, including seat selection, olci, etc. Try the hotel in advance through a European dealership. I don't think you'll be able to arrange anything in Beijing, or maybe with a huge effort...
Well, a middleman could broker that, too.
Hi, I can confirm that it works on the mobile app even if you have an OTA ticket, but not on the web, but fine on the app. And yes the retailer can do it too, they just have to want to. I also tried contacting various Air China offices in Europe in the fall and they didn't want to deal with anything if the ticket was via OTA, but maybe you'll be lucky enough to find someone more accommodating, unlike me.
You really probably can't arrange anything on the spot, the app is a sure thing.

Cali: what I'm not good at. I can't add my flight to the app, it just won't find my ticket. When I click on Transit hotel, it throws an error saying it wants to update the app, but the apple store doesn't offer me any update. On the web, I'm registered and logged in, but again it won't find my flight. It's great that it worked for you, but from what I've read in discussions, it doesn't work for people.

I've already uninstalled the app, but from what I remember, the basics are to register with a phone number, register with Phoenix Miles and enter the etix number, not PNR. That's the problem why most people can't do it, hence the need for a precise procedure there. If it doesn't, write to a CA rep and they will do the seating and the transit hotel for you, I've had a really great experience MUC and FRA. But in that Beijing if you fall for the average employee you won't get anything done, so I wouldn't count on it.
Hey. Hey,
I have a question for you. 7 months ago I bought tickets from Budapest to Tokyo. Departure in 2 months. Bought directly from Air China. In their app I can't access the tickets at once, it asks me for real name verification, they have sent my passport photo there for 3 weeks and still no change. When I looked at the ticket on the website, it says there was a change, but that more info is in the app, but I haven't had access to that for 3 weeks. I've been emailing them for 2 weeks and nothing. Since I need to start paying for accommodation and I also need to book a rail pass which I have read must be bought at least a month in advance, I have even emailed them that since they are not communicating and I don't have access to the ticket, that I wish to cancel the ticket and get a refund with no fee. Of course they continue to be unresponsive. Is there any other option to contact them to get a refund? I'm getting tired of this, but it is almost 15k that I would hate to lose..
Thank you
I communicated with them last year. Call their number in Austria or Germany. I called China. They answer the phone.
