VietJetAir is a fast-growing Vietnamese low-cost airline. Founded in 2011, it has grown into a company with nearly 60 Airbus A320 or A321 aircraft in just seven years, with more than 150 new aircraft on order. Meanwhile, VietJetAir's main domain is still operating very frequent services between Vietnamese cities, where it competes mainly with Jetstar. Its largest bases are at airports in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
In recent years, it has also increasingly penetrated international routes from Vietnam across Southeast Asia, and in 2018 even established a Thai Vietjet subsidiary based in Bangkok, Thailand (it uses its own IATA code VZ as well as ICAO code TVJ).
