The Glasshouse

The Glasshouse, a modern building, quickly became one of Newcastle's icons when it opened in 2004. It stands on the banks of the River Tyne on the Gateshead side of the town between the Swing Bridge and the Gateshead Millennium Bridge.
The Glasshouse serves as the city's main concert hall and international centre for music education.
The building, made of steel and curved glass surfaces, was designed by the famous Foster and Partners architectural studio, famous for many buildings around the world such as the Millau Viaduct in France and the skyscraper The Gherkinin London.
