Exhibition Park

On the northern edge of the centre, be sure to visit the beautiful Exhibition Park with its small Palace of Arts, now home to the Wylam microbrewery.
The park, with a small lake where you can hire a boat, landscaped paths and flowerbeds, is loosely connected to the huge Town Moor meadow, popular for long walks and sports.

The park was developed in the late 1920s as an exhibition and leisure complex with several pavilions. The complex was intended to be a symbol of the successful industrial development of the north of England.
To this day, only the Palace of the Arts, built in 1929, remains standing.
Wylam Brewery
It is the Palace of the Arts that today houses the Wylam microbrewery, specialising in American IPA-style beers.
The brewery has part of its premises open to the public, but it is mainly a restaurant with a terrace. There is no need to book in advance and admission is free.
It is only open on the following days:
- Friday 15:00-23:00
- Saturday 12:00-23:00
- Sunday 12:00-21:00
Details can be found at wylambrewery.co.uk.
