Chinatown in the Soho area concentrates London's large Asian minority. Nowadays, you can go here especially for a typical meal and to soak up the Chinese atmosphere. However, in the past, this area was known more for its opium dens and slums.

Taste traditional cuisine

Although Chinatown in Soho is now home to a fraction of the 60,000-strong Chinese community, it is still one of the cultural and social hubs of the diaspora.

At the heart of Chinatown are Gerrard and Lisle Streets, decorated with traditional red and yellow lanterns and surrounded by dozens of restaurants and traditional Chinese fast-food joints.

Soak up the atmosphere of the Far East and sample authentic Chinese cuisine.

London's Chinatown lives long into the night and some of the eateries are even open 24 hours a day.

How to get to Chinatown?

Chinatown is located in the southern part of Soho in central London. It is located right between Piccadilly Circus (Piccadilly and Bakerloo Line) and Leicester Square (Piccadilly and Norhtern Line) tube stations.

From both stations, Chinatown is about a 5-minute walk.
