The new Birmingham Central Library opened in 2013 and is one of the main symbols of the extensive modern redevelopment of the city centre that has been underway since the turn of the millennium.

Admission and opening hours

The library is free to enter and open at the following times:

  • Monday and Tuesday - 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday through Saturday - 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Sunday - closed
