The natural pools of La Maceta are a popular sea bathing area and a great place to get to from the centre of La Frontera/Tigaday.
The Ecomuseo de Guinea is also nearby.
The La Maceta swimming pool is particularly popular due to its larger space and capacity than other similar natural pools in El Hierro.
Here you'll find three relatively large pools that fill naturally with seawater, but are bordered by concrete walls to protect visitors from large waves and, more importantly, dangerous backwash.
However, there are more photogenic swimming spots on the north coast - Las Puntas and Charco Azul.
The coast is easily reached by car and parked in the free car park. There is also a bus line 4 (6 times a day) from the centre of La Frontera and Las Puntas directly to the La Maceta viewpoint.
