Where to stay on El Hierro
El Hierro is the smallest of the Canary Islands, but due to its ruggedness, driving distances are often quite long, so it's a good idea to match your choice of accommodation to the activity you want to do on the island.
Most of the accommodation is smaller private apartments and there are very few regular hotels.
Valverde
The largest town on the island is located in the northern half of the island and there are no conventional hotels, only private apartments.

There are two unique hotels in El Golfo:
- Hotel Puntagrande **** - It boasts the title of the smallest hotel in the world and stands on a small promontory above the wild cliffs of Las Punta.

Our tips and where we stayed
From the beginning of planning our trip, it was clear that we wanted to stay in a quiet place in an apartment with a view.
We chose the cozy Casitas de Pao apartment with a fully equipped cabin.
The beautiful accommodation on the outskirts of El Pinar is ideal for families or couples travelling by car looking for tranquillity.
Please find attached our own photos of the apartment.
El Hierro hotel prices
Accommodation on the island is not among the cheapest. On the contrary, it is one of the most expensive locations in the Canary Islands.
Prices between June and September are normally between 100 eur and 200 eur per night in a double room.
However, in El Hierro you can find many accommodations for only slightly higher prices, where you can have a whole villa for 6 or more people.
Prices in winter are between 80 eur and 150 eur per night.
