If you want to have some fun in Barcelona, head to Tibidabo theme park, located on the 500m-high mountain of the same name. It is here that you will get one of the best views of Barcelona.
One of the highlights of Tibidabo is the beautiful neo-Gothic Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Sagrat Cor Temple
The unmissable landmark of Tibidabo Hill is the neo-Gothic Catholic Church of Sagrat Cor (Heart of Jesus). The construction of the church by architect Enrico Sagnier lasted from 1902 until 1961.
The monumental church is divided into a lower part with a crypt reminiscent of the Romanesque style, but with a richly decorated entrance portal.
The main part of the temple is neo-Gothic with a large bronze statue of Jesus Christ at the top of the tower at a height of 60 metres.
Phenomenal viewpoint
From the terrace above the crypt and in front of the main entrance to the temple, you have absolutely divine views of Barcelona and the hinterland.
However, an even more interesting view can be seen from the temple's galleries, which are reached by a combination of elevator and stairs.
You can even climb the stairs to the very highest point of the church, below the bronze statue of Christ, where there is a small platform for 12 people with 360-degree views.
Admission and opening hours
The church, with its crypt and main terrace accessible free of charge, is open every day from 9:00-20:00.
Entrance to the temple and the crypt is free.
The elevator to the higher vantage point is open daily between 11:00-18:00 and there is a charge for entry 5 eur at the machine in front of the elevator. Payment can be made by cash or card.
Tibidabo Amusement Park
One of the main attractions of the resort is the famous Tibidabo amusement park with a history dating back to 1901.
The park boasts about 25 attractions intertwining the top of Tibidabo and making artful use of the hill's terrain.
You can have fun on roller coasters, carousels, aerial swings and many other attractions. All the local attractions are original and over 100 years old, but of course they undergo annual modifications and inspections to ensure that the attractions are safe.
The park is divided into two sections:
- Panoramic Park - the top lot with the oldest attractions (Ferris wheel, red airplane and others).
- Amusement Park - the larger part of the park with roller coaster rides and large carousels
Although the description of the park may sound spectacular, due to the limited space, Tibidibao amusement park is one of the smaller ones and you will usually have fun here for 2-3 hours at most.
Ticket prices and opening hours
It is open daily during the summer (March-September) from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm, but the main attractions are usually only open on weekends.
The Panorama Park is usually open every day from March to October.
