Palau de la Música Catalana

Palau de la Música Catalana, interior

The Catalan Palace of Music, a unique monument in the world, is a beautifully decorated Catalan modernist style, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with the grounds of the Sant Pau Hospital.

Barcelona's main concert hall will captivate you not only with its exterior, but especially with its breathtaking interior.

The Concert Hall building is considered the masterpiece of architect Lluís Domenech i Montaner and combines the colourful, sometimes kitsch elements typical of Catalan modernism with graceful, rounded lines.

The concert hall was opened in 1908 after only 3 years of construction and has been used for music ever since.

Tour of the concert hall

If you don't want to attend a performance directly, it is possible to pay for a mere admission to the interior, which we definitely recommend if you are at least a little bit interested in architecture.

Tours are available daily from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Tickets can be purchased from the machine in the lobby of the historic building (on Carrer de Sant Pere Més Alt) or online for the exact time. The price is the same for online and on-site purchases, and payment can only be made by card.

There are 3 types of tickets available:

  • 18 eur - admission without guide.
  • 22 eur - admission with audio guide
  • 22 eur - guided tour

Of course, you can also go to the concert palace for a real concert. Again, tickets should be purchased online, and are usually available about 3 weeks before the actual performance.
