Aeri del Port

Aeri del Port

The iconic red cable cars that span Barcelona's Port Vell harbour serve not only to transport you from Montjuïc Park to Barceloneta Beach, but also as a very popular tourist attraction.

The cable car runs relatively high above the ground, offering some of the best views of Barcelona and the Mediterranean Sea.

The cable car was put into operation in 1931.

Views from 100 metres up

Breathtaking views are also offered along the route because the cable car runs at a high altitude above the harbour and there are no buildings or hills on either side to obstruct the view.

The cable car reaches its highest point at the middle column of Torre Jaume I, where it rises to 107 metres above the ground.

There used to be a station at Torre Jaume I where you could get off or on, but nowadays cabs only pass through this station.

The end of the cable car is at the 86 metre high tower of Torre Sant Sebastia. The cable car can be reached from the street by lift.

Timetable and ticket price

The "Aeri de Port" cable car is not integrated into the public transport system and no public transport tickets are valid here.

Tickets can be purchased at the ticket office before the ride and can be paid with cash or card.

  • 12,50 eur - One-way ticket
  • 20 eur - return ticket

This cable car operates every day. Operating hours vary according to the season and you can find the exact schedule on the official website: telefericodebarcelona.com.
