Tuna Bay is a pleasant beach on the western side of the larger of the islands. It is one of the very popular beaches for day trips, as there are no accommodations right next to the beach.

During the day the beach can be a bit crowded, but if you come here in the off-season or in the morning/evening, you can enjoy this beautiful piece of the tropics on your own.

The 10 best hotels in the Perhetians

Beach and swimming

The beach offers a gradual entry into the water over a sandy bottom, which families with children will especially appreciate. There's also some pretty good snorkelling in the immediate area around the beach, you can see coral in relatively good condition and the ubiquitous eyed clownfish are the local star.

There are several stalls and restaurants by the beach, which also offer sunbeds and umbrellas. The beach is sandy, but the sand is mixed with coarser coral and shell fragments, so it may not be as pleasant as other parts of the island.

Transportation to Tuna Bay

Tuna Bay beach can be reached by boat. There are also walking trails through the jungle from Flora Bay and Teluk Pauh beach.
