A small cove on the smaller of the two islands serves as the gateway to the island. Here you will find a large pier, a number of accommodations, restaurants and dive agencies. The beach is also suitable for swimming, but there are a lot of boats around the beach, so the water is not as clear as in other parts of the archipelago.

Coral Bay is where most of the snorkelling trips leave from, and there are also many diving trips from here.

Beach and swimming

The beach itself is quite pleasant, offering fine sand and a gradual entry into the water. The downside is the ubiquitous boats, which swirl the water and also cause pollution.

On the beach you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas for a good price (around 10 myr) and enjoy relaxing.

Accommodation in Coral Bay

Coral Bay offers several hotels and simpler accommodations to choose from.

You can find cheap accommodation on the southern part of the beach at Senja Bay Resort*.

Also north of Coral Bay on its own beach is one of the most beautiful hotels in the archipelago - the Perhentian Marriott Resort & Spa*****.

Transportation to Coral Bay

Right in Coral Bay is a large pier where boats arrive from the mainland. This makes it easy to get here by boat from other destinations in the Perhentians or directly from the Malaysian mainland.

Coral Bay is also connected by a footpath to Long Beach on the other side of the island.
