The Taman Mini Indonesia Indah Cultural and Entertainment Park, known as "TMII", offers a variety of activities and entertainment.

Spread over 147 hectares, TMII displays and introduces people to culture from all 38 regions of Indonesia in many interactive and static ways.

A giant miniature of Indonesia

The park is dominated by a large artificial body of water with miniature of all the major islands of Indonesia.

The edges of the islands are illuminated after dark and cable cars run along the edges of this lake so that you can also view the miniature Indonesia from above.

What will you see at TMII?

TMII is a huge complex comprising dozens of buildings where you will discover museums, pavilions representing the culture of Indonesian regions, parks or animal exhibitions.

In total, you can visit 15 museums.

Admission to each museum is around 10 000 idr for international visitors and around 5 000 idr for locals.

Provincial pavilions

Indonesia has a total of 38 provinces, 33 of which have their own pavilion.

These pavilions host various cultural performances and exhibitions focusing on specific regions and provinces.

Admission to the pavilions is usually free.

Animal parks

A major attraction is the Taman Burung Bird Pavilion, divided into five sections by region.

The huge aviary houses birds from all over Indonesia, as well as other parts of Southeast Asia and Australia.

Admission ranges from 60 000 idr to 90 000 idr according to the days of the week and official information can be found on the website jagatsatwanusantara.id.

The second largest freshwater aquarium in Asia, Dunia Air Tawar, with more than 126 species of aquatic animals, is also a popular attraction.

Entrance fees and opening hours

Apart from the individual attractions, you will also pay for the actual entry to the TMII premises.

Prices vary depending on the days of the week.

  • 25 000 idr - 35 000 idr - Separate ticket
  • 60 000 idr - entrance ticket + 1 cable car ride

Taman Mini Indonesia Indah Park is open daily from 6am-7pm.

How to get to TMII

The most convenient transportation is by taxi or better yet, via the Grab or Gojek mobile apps.

The price from downtown Jakarta is around 85 000 idr.

Public transport

To get directly to the entrance, take the 7D bus line (fare 3 500 idr), which runs to the large transfer station Cawang Sentral.

From there, you can continue to the centre by LRT subway or bus lines 5C and 5D.

The Light Rail Transit (LRT) station of the blue line called TMII is more than 1 km from the nearest entrance.

Accommodation

You can be generous with your visit to TMII, and if you want to visit all the museums and attractions, you probably won't have enough time for a full day.
