Near the cathedral and mosque stands another religious building - the old Protestant Immanuel Church. This is one of the oldest churches in Indonesia, as it was built in 1839.
Unconventional architecture
The church is built in a very interesting imperial style typical of the Dutch East Indies.
The circular building with a white façade is surrounded by a portico with massive columns that are reminiscent of ancient buildings.
The dominant feature is a dark brown dome.
