Sahara Beach

Sahara Beach

The exotic beach forming a triangular cape is named after the world's largest desert, the Sahara, for its appearance and surroundings.

The beach is surrounded by relatively large sand dunes on an area of about 500x100 meters, which gives this place a special touch of solitude and loneliness.

Swimming and beach facilities

Although Sahara Beach is located outside the resorts (the nearest is Nea Kallikratia, 4km away), there are plenty of small impromptu bars and bistros along the beach, but they provide all the refreshments you need.

Then on the headland is the Sahara resort, a small beach town with sunbed and umbrella hire and one better and expensive restaurant.

The beach is covered with fine, light sand, as is the seabed, which slopes down very gently. Even though Sahara Beach faces the open sea, there are no big waves.

Sahara Beach is the ideal place for travellers seeking tranquillity away from the hustle and bustle of the big resorts.

Beachfront accommodation

Just steps from the beach, you can stay in several houses offering studios and fully equipped apartments. Some of the most popular are A1 Family Apartments with very good prices from 92 eur for a 2 bedroom apartment for 6 people.

How to get to Sahara Beach?

There are no buses passing by the beach, so the only way to get here is by car. At the main part of Sahara resort you will find a spacious and marked free parking lot. You can easily rent a car at Thessaloniki Airport, 35 km away, see the route map to the beach.
