The resort of Nea Kallikratia is located on the main peninsula of Halkidiki and is the closest major seaside resort to the airport in Thessaloniki (approx. 35 km).
It is one of the largest of the Halkidiki resorts and offers the complete facilities of a larger town, from supermarkets with groceries to clothing and souvenir shops to a large number of tavernas and bars.

Nea Kallikratia will keep nightlife lovers entertained, on the other hand the town is quite large and very quiet in the outskirts.
Beaches and swimming
Right in the centre of town is the beautiful, spacious Nea Kallikratia beach, about 450 metres long, with a wide range of services and a promenade with many restaurants. There is also a small children's water park on part of the beach. In the summer season, especially on weekends, the beach is crowded with visitors from Thessaloniki.
To the east, about 3 km from the town centre, lies the beautiful Mykoniatika beach, over 1.5 km long and partly located under a photogenic steep, tree-covered rock overhang. Part of the beach then continues along the plain to a small village. Here too you will find facilities in the form of small tavernas and umbrella rental shops.
On the other hand, to the west is one of the most famous beaches in Halkidiki , Sahara Beach, which deserves a separate location detail.

The town is particularly popular with individual travellers for its very reasonable accommodation prices, with a night in a 2-bed apartment in low season from 29 eur.
The cheapest ones are Agelikis Apartments or Artistic Rent Rooms & Apartments right in the centre of town about 100 metres from the main beach.
Among the classic hotels, you will find Hotel Epavli ** also right on the central promenade.
