Located in the eastern part of Brunei, Ulu Temburong National Park covers an area of over 550 square kilometres and lies in a very biodiverse area.

Nature trails include seven kilometres of wooden paths in lush vegetation. There are also various nature trails that offer a great opportunity to learn about rainforest life.

Walk through the treetops on the Canopy Walk

Ulu Temburong is also known for one of Brunei's most visited attractions, which is the 'canopy walk', an aluminium structure that allows you to walk in the treetops 50 metres above the ground.

One of the rarities here is the system of wooden bridges that connect the different "quarters" of the evergreen jungle. Wooden houses nearly 20 metres high are connected by rope bridges that can be used as natural observatories.

There are many species of wildlife (but they hide during the day), more than 450 species of butterflies and many, many species of exotic plants.

How to visit Ulu Temburong

Ulu Temburong National Park cannot be visited on your own.

You need to use one of the travel agencies in Bandar Seri Begawan that will arrange a complete program including transportation.

Where to book a tour?

We always recommend booking a tour to Ulu Temburong at least a week in advance to ensure 100% availability.

All tour companies depart from Bandar Seri Begawan. Compare availability and prices with the following agencies:

Trip prices

  • 155 bnd - day tours
  • 245 bnd - two-day tour with overnight stay

What to expect and what to bring?

Bring comfortable hiking clothes and hiking boots. A waterproof case for your phone and documents will definitely come in handy.

The tour operator's bus will pick you up directly at the hotel. You will have a comfortable ride over the Omar Ali Saifuddien Bridge, the longest in Brunei.

After that, you will have a roughly 45-minute cruise on a traditional local boat to the heart of the rainforest.

Here the program varies depending on which tour you purchase.

  • Canopy Walk - a walk along paths in the treetops, no climbing skills are required but you will be climbing many steps and ladders and definitely not suitable for people with a fear of heights.
  • Kayaking + waterfalls - raft or kayak down a river in the middle of the jungle and visit waterfalls
    • Includes a total of about 5 km of walking
    • 1-day and 2-day packages available
  • Trekking to the Falls - approximately 4 hours trek through the jungle to the small waterfalls of Panji

The 1-day treks depart from Bandar Seri Begawan at approximately 8:30am and return to the hotel around 5pm.
