Great Barrier Reef

If you love water, you've come to the right place. Most travellers fly into Cairns to take one of the snorkelling or diving day trips on offer to the reef edge.
For diving enthusiasts, we recommend paying extra and taking a few days out on a yacht with an organised tour. For those of you who aren't so keen on the water, take a trip north of Cairns to the tropical rainforest of Daintree. The rainforest town of Kuranda, with the world's largest cable car, is also close to Cairns.
